Even though I do not go to this school anymore the GHS Class of 2016 deserves a good graduation.

Please keep tradition of had ng graduation on football field. It is a child's dream to graduate on football field. As a single mother I am very proud of my son. I would hate to have to pick and choose who to invite. Football field is my choice.

This decision is so unfair to these students that have worked hard and earned their chance to walk in graduation on the football field like all seniors from the past. Forcing families to pick and choose friends and family to attend isn't fair to these students.

Let these Seniors enjoy their graduation using the football field. Invitations should not have to be limited.

This should be one of the most important days in a young person's life, not one of stress while trying to choose which 10 family members to invite to graduation. This is a great accomplishment and achievement, a day of celebration for these kids, and should be treated as such. I have a very large, and very supportive family, and they would ALL want to be a part of this day, and were! I'm embarrassed by this nonsense. Come on BOE! Come on Gilmer! Where are our PRIORITIES?!

This is crazy. Growing up we dreamt of graduating on the field. When my sister graduated they had it in the gym and she felt terrible that she had to pick and choose who got to see her walk. They should start construction the day after graduation.

Choices they asked the kids and parents to consider include holding graduation on GHS baseball field, GHS gym, and CCMS football field. Prices for renting stage, chairs, and/or risers for outdoor locations were $2500 and $10,000. None of these ideal, but graduation certainly not cancelled!

Do not take Graduation away from these kids! That is incredibly selfish of the school to even consider it!

This shouldn't even be legal. Why don't they just move the graduation to another location. Many high schools in the metro Atlanta area do their graduations at churches or auditoriums or other football fields.

Priorities much BOE? I can't believe this "idea" was even put through. This is a small town with hometown values- I assume all on the BOE are "educated"? Figure it out- but here's a clue- graduation is way more important than football.

This means so much to some of these kids, and a few that I know would rather not walk if they can't have it on the football field

I think they should keep the tradition going!
