I would think the graduating class is a lot more important than football or any other sport! What is this saying to the students? That the last twelve years of learning and hard work is less important than playing ball? I should surely hope this doesn't happen....and I certainly have nothing against football....just saying....priority is important!

The 2016 Gilmer County High School graduates deserve to have a wonderful ceremony like other students in years past where all their family can attend and watch this once in a lifetime event.

After all that the students have done to reach graduation, they should at least be able to have everyone they love and that helped them walk across that stage be there to cheer them on. Graduation is a right of passage and they shouldn't be confined to a gym that is pushed to the limit of its fire safety code regulations.

Graduation is a right of passage! These kids have earned the right to walk across that stage in front of friends, family and fellow classmates! Yes, football is important but games are played every single season....these students only graduate from high school ONE time. Give them the society given right to "show off" their hard work! Other arrangements can be made IF people are willing to look for them. Someone said to use the fields at CCMS.... Use it for Graduation! The students get their time and construction still goes on!

I was the first class to do this in I don't know how long, class of 2013. All seniors deserve the chance to have any person attend that has influenced them and helped them make it to this very special day. We are pushed our whole lives towards graduation, so why not get the best one possible when that day gets here. Graduation is much more important than football as football impacts not even half of the seniors where graduation effects them all.
