I suggest that we listen to the suggestions of everyone else and make them go to a bear trapper camp in Alaska

Is Timberlane a good replacement trip for Washington? The answer in no, there are many flaws with this trip including the fact that camps are overused and have gotten boring and the experience from going to Washington will be lost with nothing to replace it. Also there is no con to going to Washington. The Washington trip is much more beneficial than the Timberlane trip.
The problem with another camp is that it will be a waste of time. We have already done many if all of the activities at camp. Even if the camp says that they have "unique activities", there is a limit to what you can do at it. According to a reliable source, a student here since grade 3, there have already been 7 camps and it has gotten boring. There is nothing new and another camp would simply be a waste of time. Wasting time is terrible because youth is limited, we are constantly pestered about playing video games because it's wasting our time. Would you not agree that going to repeat activities we've done many times over is also a waste of time? What's worse is because we have already gotten bored of camp activities, no one will be in the camp mood that may have saved the trip. No one will be enthusiastic and will destroy the experience. What used to be the highlight of HTS life will be turned into the worst trip of student life.
At HTS, we are supposedly "Shaped by Experience". Taking into account how bad the experience of wasting time, would that not mean that going to the camp is shaping ourselves into something worse? Going to another country will allow us to experience the differences of both countries even though they are so close. At Camp Timberlane, we have experienced camp life many times over. There is nothing genuinely unique or new about it. That's why we should go to Washington.
There is no cons to going to Washington. If it is because of their president, that is a very weak reason. Donald Trump may be a bit extreme at times, but in the end, he won't affect us that much. If

It is dissappointing and unjust that this opportunity and long running tradition be taken away for whatever reason. All students deserve the opportunity to experience these trips!!! Nobody wants to be sent to another camp again.

At my Elementary School in grade 8, something similar happened. They changed the trip from Ottawa (which was always the trip for the grade 8's since the school opened in 2002) and instead sent us to an arts camp, which most people didn't like. Then, the following year they switched back to Ottawa. The reason I am signing this is because the school always tells us to "provide feedback to make HTS better" but didn't consider our input on the trip, when we will be affected by this. If I was in Grade 12, and I found out the following year that they ended up switching the trips back to their original generation, I would be disappointed. It would be nice if the school could at least expand on their decision, rather than a quick sentence.

Why would the school prefer to do something against us. Honestly just by looking at signatures, most if not ALL students do not wanna go to camp so just change it
