The HTS grade 11&12's don't want to go to another camp! We were supposed to go to Washington for breakaway 2017-18 year. This trip is the highlight of a lot of HTS high school students, none of us want to miss out on this awesome opportunity.

I have been hearing from so many people in the hallways about how much those Washington trips meant to them back in the day and honestly it makes me even more frustrated that they might take that away from us now. Nobody wants to be stuck at some local camp when we were promised something big and actually memorable like the D.C. breakaway trip so I am just going to keep pushing until someone actually listens to us instead of just waving us off like we do not know what we want.

Seeing all these notifications pop up on my phone is actually wild because I honestly thought it would just be me and a few friends complaining in the hallways. It feels like everyone is finally on the same page about how much this trip matters and honestly it is giving me so much energy to keep pushing for Washington.

This trip is suppose to be a highlight of my time at HTS taking this opportunity aways from us and from the rest of the people that will pass through high school. High school is about making memories that you will keep with you for the rest of your life and Going to Washington with your grade will impact all of us for the rest of our lives.
We've been to camp so many times in the past. Washington is a highlight of HTS school life, so please don't take it away from us!!
I would like to go to Washington because of the unique experience of travelling to a different country, as well as seeing for myself how different the country is from our country.
Washington will be a better experience for our age rather than a week of repetitive activities
This applies to the grade 12's camping trip as well! The grade 12's had such a great time, and we don't want to spend our last trip together at a camp, as we would rather a more valuable experience.
I suggest that we listen to the suggestions of everyone else and make them go to a bear trapper camp in Alaska
Is Timberlane a good replacement trip for Washington? The answer in no, there are many flaws with this trip including the fact that camps are overused and have gotten boring and the experience from going to Washington will be lost with nothing to replace it. Also there is no con to going to Washington. The Washington trip is much more beneficial than the Timberlane trip. The problem with another camp is that it will be a waste of time. We have already done many if all of the activities at camp. Even if the camp says that they have "unique activities", there is a limit to what you can do at it. According to a reliable source, a student here since grade 3, there have already been 7 camps and it has gotten boring. There is nothing new and another camp would simply be a waste of time. Wasting time is terrible because youth is limited, we are constantly pestered about playing video games because it's wasting our time. Would you not agree that going to repeat activities we've done many times over is also a waste of time? What's worse is because we have already gotten bored of camp activities, no one will be in the camp mood that may have saved the trip. No one will be enthusiastic and will destroy the experience. What used to be the highlight of HTS life will be turned into the worst trip of student life. At HTS, we are supposedly "Shaped by Experience". Taking into account how bad the experience of wasting time, would that not mean that going to the camp is shaping ourselves into something worse? Going to another country will allow us to experience the differences of both countries even though they are so close. At Camp Timberlane, we have experienced camp life many times over. There is nothing genuinely unique or new about it. That's why we should go to Washington. There is no cons to going to Washington. If it is because of their president, that is a very weak reason. Donald Trump may be a bit extreme at times, but in the end, he won't affect us that much. If
