His music carried me through my hardest years and seeing these messages from people who feel the same is overwhelming. I am currently reaching out to local representatives to ensure that his legacy receives the proper recognition he earned during his lifetime.

Seeing this outpouring of love for Gordon reminds me why his music meant so much to my own family growing up. It is truly humbling to see so many of you join me in wanting to honor his legacy in this way.

Gordon’s contribution to this country’s musical development, culture, and identity is immeasurable. He will continue to inspire many generations of future musicians to come. It is very important that we honour him and recognise his achievements.
