To the magistrate, As members of the Goondiwindi (QLD), Boggabilla (NSW) and Toomelah (NSW) communities, we request tougher penalties for all repeat offenders including youth repeat offenders. Our communities use to be safe places to live, work and play. We are now finding that repeat offenders are being released with minimal or no sentencing and are reoffending. This is affecting our way of life and safety in our own homes and businesses. Our police have done the job of bringing these offenders to justice and we are relying on you, the magistrate, to ensure that these offenders are off our streets. We do not want these offenders released and back on the streets in our communities.
