This is a very busy road that has a high volume of students on or around it.

This is a fantastic idea & is long overdue. Safety for children & young adults should be everyone's top priority.

This should not even be a debate it should just be imposed. Also Car park is available until 9am for drop off for junior schools no need to be outside the gate. Also far too many drivers speeding up to go through at amber at the pedestrian crossing some with kids in car. Does not help that some are probably in a rush to find a car park space for the day in the residential streets.

A great initiative which I support fully and hope is successful. It will not solve the problem but will go someway to helping road safety. Other measures needed are also needed.

We live on Salisbury Street where people park/drop off children on double yellow lines EVERY day causing a massive danger to other children especially. This campaign is essential

As a resident of Gargrave Road and a parent of 2 children, I would urge the authorities to implement a 20mph limit. Drivers often exceed the current limit and more should be done to protect our school children and residents alike.

Narrow pavements and too much traffic - there have been a number of children knocked over already - are we waiting for a death?

A very worthwhile petition. I welcome this proactive collaboration, led by the school, to improve the current situation.

Due the road layout and parked cars it makes it very dangerous for the pupils of the two schools on Gargrave road to cross safely when motorists are traveling too fast

We live just off Gargrave Road and frequently see cars driving too fast. Plus inconsiderate parking in the side roads.

While I think this might help reduce the likelihood of death, this does not fully address the points set out by the Headteacher of SGHS. A special drop off area needs to be built, an extra crossing between the schools and the secondary children need educating as they take unnecessary risks which cause the near misses and accidents.

We live here, some people drive like idiots at times on this road. Definitely over 30mph. I know a boy who was very lucky having been knocked down and I have seen at least 3 close shaves of boys from the grammar school almost being knocked down. This is a great plan. Please implement. .
