This needs to be enforced. I lived on Gargrave Road as well as attending Skipton Girls High & I have seen cars going to fast & accidents happen.

I support this petition 100% my two grandchildren attend schools on this road and I am constantly reminding them to look for traffic especially as people drive a lot faster now.

As a resident on Gargrave Road, parent of a daughter in Yr11 at Skipton Girls High School AND a massive supporter of such campaigns run by Brake and Cycling UK to make our streets safer for pedestrians and cyclists I wholeheartedly support this petition.

I absolutely urge the government to impose speed restrictions along this very busy stretch of road in Skipton North Yorkshire.
Furthermore, I encourage the government to impose speed restrictions in all built up areas within the UK. Driving slower will not prevent a driver from getting to their destination slower. All traffic would theoretically be travelling at the same speed, which if correctly spaced would alleviate the need for constant breaking saving thousands of pounds in unnecessary replacement of car parts, the release of emissions and helping protect our environment whilst more importantly helping to protect human lives.

This would be great, I agree children need to be aware of the traffic but at busy times the pavements are hardly big enough to contain them. I often walk the length of the road as both schools come out, the volume of people is great, kids step into the road to let me and my 3 children pass at times. I have also witnessed numerous accidents and near misses.
