In 2012 glasgow brought out a new ballot system for its Christmas lights switch on. Instead of being able to order tickets on a first come first come basis you now have to put your email address in a ballot and you have to be chosen to go.
Previously I attended with my children every year but since the ballot system came into force i, along with thousands of people (who usually attend) haven't been able to go. I do not know a single person who I personally know, who have been selected to go.
I find this system extremely unfair.
