The cultural significance of this tiny patio exceeds whatever would be gained from having it removed.
Thirsty and Miserable boasts a large selection of rare, world class beers at the most affordable prices in the city. Beyond this, their staunch refusal to adopt corporate practices - and stay true to their DIY spirit - makes this bar a unique and empowering Toronto destination. City council should discussing ways to promote their cultural institutions, rather than hamper their development.

three of the many good reasons to allow this business to maintain their small street front patio are listed below:
(1) it is unfair to the owner of this business to revoke a previously existing patio that was included in the purchase of the business.
(2) issues around proximity to the street are less relevant on this stretch of Augusta avenue, one of the few blessedly regularly pedestrian-dominant roads in the city.
(3) patios like this one are essential to maintaining the special and unique qualities of Kensington market.

This patio is a gem that has existed for decades! It does not bother anyone, except the people who are currently not allowed to enjoy a beer on it. It'd be a shame if Kensington Market couldn't keep it.

This patio has existed for years, any new requirements should grandfather the existing patio spaces. This is a designated heritage/tourist area, not all rules should need applied to the letter.

The patio is essential to this great bar in Kensington market. It's small and a social hub for many locals. The loss of the patio is huge to a business in the area that had to compete with all the other bars that have patios. Summer season is an important season to the industry and to this bar. It's nice to sit out there on the small patio, have a local craft beer and people watch.
