Mobile County Public School System currently allows exterior doors around the perimeter of each school to remain unlocked during school hours. We believe the LEAST we can do to protect our kids is to LOCK THE DOORS! When we put our kids in the car, we make them wear a seatbelt. Does this ensure their survival in case of a crash? No, but it gives them a chance! We know evil will get in where it wants, but that's no excuse to do nothing and hope it doesn't happen here. We ask the school board to inspect each door in each school, make sure they are in proper working order (allowing kids out but not back in), and lock them during school hours. To leave our kids vulnerable would be gross negligence!
