The UK should offer asylum to Iraqi Christians. France has already offered asylum to them. 30,000 Iraqi Christians are now refugees following the takeover of Mosul by ISIS who have proclaimed the capital of their “Islamic State”. France has already offered asylum to these Iraqi Christians who the militants offered a choice of converting to Islam, death or a heavy tax regime.

The Bishop of Manchester, the Right Reverend Bishop Walker, the Bishop of Leeds, the Right Reverend Nick Baines and the Bishop of Worcester, the Right Reverend Dr John Inge have all called on the UK to take the refugees in.

Please sign this petition asking the UK Government to grant these refugee Christians from Iraq asylum in the UK.

I am currently organizing the collected data to present directly to the Home Office. Correspondence has been initiated with the offices of the Bishops who publicly supported this cause to coordinate a formal joint submission.

The reach of this petition has captured the attention of several parliamentary offices. I am currently finalizing a briefing document to present to the Home Office detailing the specific need for this asylum policy. Expect a report on these formal discussions once the intake meetings conclude.

If France can help then why cant we? Seems like common sense to me.

My heart goes out to the people of Mosul. Nobody should have to leave their home like that.

The Bishop of Manchester is right. The UK should help these people after all they have been through.
