We request Highland Park Athletic Department to establish an interscholastic girls badminton team for spring 2019 season for the for the following reasons.

1. Of the twelve schools in the Central Suburban League, 10 schools currently have badminton teams.

2. Although HPHS and DHS are in the same district, DHS has 4 more girls sports teams than HPHS does, despite HPHS having a significantly larger student body.

3. There are currently more boys sports teams than girls, despite there being more girls enrolled in the school.

4. The majority of spring sports are held outside. Badminton utilizes the gym space and will not be canceled due to weather.
