We are trying to get them to stop by South on their way to theirMay 5thConcert at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO
It would be so cool to have them stop by where it all began fifty years ago. It would also be one of the coolest things to happen for senior year.
Last year our local NPR station, KCUR,had a little storyabout this.
The only problem is that no one is getting the word out. So I was hoping that the internet will help by spreading the word, trying to get them to just drop by and say hello, even.
This would be so cool if it happened, so please tell your friends, contact some connections, share on social media, do whatever to get the word out.

I keep refreshing the page and my heart is honestly racing because we are just about to hit one thousand signatures for the school visit. Can you imagine Pete Townshend walking through our hallways again after all this time because I definitely keep picturing it every single time I walk to class. Just ping everyone you know and tell them to jump on this right now before the momentum dies out.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is honestly wild to see all these people piling on. Just imagining them walking through the halls of South makes me lose my mind because who could have predicted that a random thought I had while sitting in class would actually start getting some real legs?

I saw Tommy in 1976. I was in the 6th grade and snuck into Ranchmart Theater with a girlfriend to the Saturday matinee. Think we told our parents we were seeing Pippi Longstocking. We sat in the front row. The movie scared us to death. Gave me nightmares, but I never told my mom what we did. I need The Who to come back to SMS to help with my ongoing therapy. Good memories to get rid of bad. :)
What a great idea! What a tribute to where the group began, celebrating the early years!
I've been a Who fan since a friend first played the Tommy album for me when I was in junior high. I've been the band director at South for almost 30 years. The band has marched to Who songs-even just this year. I've seen the group live twice including with my wife who was very pregnant with my first child. I would love to have two of my musical heroes visit South again.
My dad was explaining to me that when he was in school, he remembers the who coming to South. He has been a fan ever since. It would be amazing to know i got to share the same experience so many years later/
My older brother was there for the original show at SM South. Asking Roger and Pete to consider coming back.
The people realize how far it is to Britain? Yes it's fun to try to get something that you would like to see happen but there's only two of them left and I doubt if they have a whole lot of interest in going back to a high school in Kansas Leslie happened to me in the area which is highly unlikely at this point. So let's grow up let's enjoy what they've left because of that the golden egg they'll be gone in a few years you'll be gone in a few years but their music will remain.
As a who fan and a daughter attending school there next year! Heck yea bring back The Who!!

this would be very cool. They played for my senior class in 1969 at Shawnee Mission South!
