A "little ditty" about Public ed in Indiana: please help me convince Hoosier native John Mellencamp to lend his support to the ISTA / AFT Legislative Organization Day activities at the statehouse in Indianapolis on November 19, 2009. Since budget-makers have made sure our funding for public schools "Hurts so [not] good," we must march a Red for Ed "Cherry Bomb" into and around the statehouse. So come one, come "Jack and Diane," come all, and please help us paint Little "Red" Houses while we speak up for Indiana public school students and teachers alike. Let's go, teachers, "Your Life is Now." Let's make it a "Wild Night" in Indy on November 19!

Let’s keep telling our Legislators this lack of funding has to stop for our public schools...from the Big Cities to our Small Towns..we are Statehouse Bound! #RedForEd #marchingon
Education in America should be out #1 priority. It is a shame that we have to even go to these lengths to make politicians notice the grave need for increasing our budgets, and not taking away money from sports, music and the arts. Geez!
Sure would make a difference for the students in teachers in all he small towns in Indiana!

Maybe if we make it hurt so good in this small town and dance naked they will realize Indiana teachers will R.O.C.K. In the U.S.A. every. Single. Day until things change like a cherry bomb. Our country is crumblin’ down and we need help from Mellencamp to get a leg up and make a wild night! We need a hand to hold onto and it’s John Mellencamp’s! We’re not running anymore !

Please consider doing this. I am not a teacher, and my Grandson attends school in Illinois. Many people my daughter's age have LEFT Indiana due to lack of good jobs, poor education, and regressive policies. Please help bring Indiana into the 21st century!
