I can't believe Shawn needs my help getting inducted into any hall of fame but I am proud to be a part of it. I must cast 1 vote for each song he wrote that I personally enjoyed on numerous albums. Shawn set me straight when I thanked him for his performance at that bar in Shreveport Louisiana back in the '80's. "My songs are for the people out there to connect with and enjoy" ......OK, I admit I just happened to be a Sagittarius.

The creative genius that is Shawn Phillips should be honoured with his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. I was introduced to his music in 1972 and have been enchanted with it ever since. Quoting Shawn Phillips himself when asked what type of music he played, the answer was "fulfilling" ... not a truer word has ever been spoken.

He sang many songs that are Heartfelt and thinking. From the beginning in Houston.

He should have been inducted with his first song. Incredible talent and angelic voice that even the Creator listens to!

Shawn is one of the best songwriters ever. His body of work is great! Being commercially accepted aside, Shawn gives us profound in-site into life as a society.

For writting the best meaningfull music ever, music to carry a soldier through tough times, sooth a broken heart, just make someone feal better when down, I should know I've been there, and his music always carried me through

I have loved Shawn Phillips music ever since he performed at my high school, Richfield High School in Richfield, MN back in the early '70's. He's an amazing singer, song writer and performer. I have seen him in concert over the years. Most recently at the State Theater in St. Paul, MN. I love his musical talent and his songs are awesome. He definitely deserves to be in the Songwriters Hall of Fame! One of our greatest talents in the music world.

This honor is way overdue! I have been blessed to know Shawn and his music for decades. He is a brilliant songwriter and performer.
