Our high school makes it mandatory that you are breathalyzed before entry of the dance. This should be done away with because they know we do it before football games so why not the dance.
The feeling of being treated like a criminal just to attend a school dance is exhausting for all of us. I have been spending my time talking to other students about how humiliating this process feels at the door. We deserve to enjoy our school events without being singled out and monitored like this.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one who feels humiliated by these intrusive checks at the door. It is validating to know so many of my peers are ready to push back against this policy.

Everyone should just show up drunk, it’s not like they will just kick every single person out. Then there would be no dance at all.

The legal drinking age in some countries (I think Germany) is 16. If they are allowed to drink, we should be able to as well.
