Petition to Homewood Mayor and City Council:

We denounce the local and global harm of throwaway plastics. We urge our Mayor and City Council to study bold policy actions elsewhere and to craft a Homewood ordinance promoting community wide transition to reusable or biodegradable shopping bags.

Over 500 municipalities across the U.S. have implemented bans on single-use plastics...ordinances that work for those particular communities. Homewood can do this too! Let's become the first city in Alabama to create policy that limits the amount of waste going into our streams, trees and parks!
