Please sign this petition to get our Midwives back at Harleston Medical Practise. Pregnant women who live in Harleston and surrounding areas who would have previously been able to see a Midwife at Harleston Medical Practise are now expected to travel over 9 miles to Long Stratton to see a Midwife.
The momentum we have built proves that the board at Harleston Medical Practice cannot continue to ignore our families. They expect us to stay silent while they strip away our local maternity care but this shows they have severely underestimated our resolve.

Most women only have care from their Community Midwife, so their midwife needs to be able to see them in the community where mothers are able to reach them and not rely on friends and family to get them to appointments 9 miles away if they do not drive.

This is such an important service to have. I lost my nephew last year. Steps should be taken to improve the level of care for expectant mums, not make even more detrimental cut backs.

We need to have midwives locally as it can get increasingly hard or impossible in some cases to travel to surrounding areas. There also seems tobe more and more starter homes going up in harleston which will mean increasing demands for midwives which means there will be a need for them locally.

It's just not possible for some to travel so going to put extra strain in already stretched team of midwives. Regardless of travel midwifery is a service that needs to be local in the community

Absolutely ludicrous, I couldn't drive towards the end of both my pregnancies with chronic back pain, for someone to be expected to drive to Long Stratton is ridiculous, as for people who can't drive ..... buses aren't exactly great! it would be interesting to know who came up with this idea.

Bring back the midwives to Harleston. This could be be very detrimental to babies and mums to be who may not be able to or willing to travel to Long Stratton. There are houses going up all over Harleston, the population is expanding rapidly ladies need this service in our town!

This is not fair for expectant mums especially for those who don't drive.
