(my info might be wrong, im just going by what ive been told)my brother was shot 4-7 times by port Hardy RCMP. I am not letting these cops get away with this! My brother was a good man! He did not deserve to die at the age of 24! Please help me get my brother justice!

The police are staying silent on what happened to James but we are not going anywhere. Call the Port Hardy RCMP detachment today to demand a full public investigation into my brother's death. Post this petition on your Facebook page right now so they understand the public is watching.

We spend $$$$ on tazers, training, bullet proof vests and they shoot a young man who has a knife. Look out , better not advance on the police with a pointy stick or you too could be shot. And a year to investigate, give me a break typical bureaucratic move.

James was my brother aswell and this was in no way justified they have a belt full of non fatal weapons they could have used like pepper spray and a tazer but instead they shot him I'm devastated by the loss of my brother and I want justice.

There is no need for 'New York' style policing in the small tight-knit community of Port Hardy. Just how long did the officers take to actually try to talk this victim down? And why the need to shoot an already injured victim on the ground?!?

I am sorry to the family and friends of this young man. If anyone would like to speak to the North Island Gazette with any information or any stories about James, please feel free to contact me at 250 949 6225 or at [email protected]

There must be justice. I believe this whole situation was left unjust. The man didn't deserve to die. The knife was removed from his possession and the cop STILL shot him. James was not diagnosed, but he had a mental disorder. How dare you.

This was outside my place of work, they definitely didn't need to shoot and kill him. I'm extremely sorry for the loss of this young man. I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him for a little while years back. Rest In Peace James.

Its been over a year now and we still haven't gotten answers. We need to get my brother justice. Those pigs need to be put behind bars and stripped of their badges. They do NOT protect us! They cause more deaths than suicide, car accident. Police need more training. This is unacceptable. Too many families have lost a loved one to unnecessary police shootings. Please share. And please no negative comments. If you have nothing nice to say about what happened then fu*k off I'm done seeing these rude comments. Think about if this was your brother and you had people being rude. Get a brain guys. Be respectful.
