get my brother justice! James Hayward!! police killed my brother.

Its been over a year now and we still haven't gotten answers. We need to get my brother justice. Those pigs need to be put behind bars and stripped of their badges. They do NOT protect us! They cause more deaths than suicide, car accident. Police need more training. This is unacceptable. Too many families have lost a loved one to unnecessary police shootings. Please share. And please no negative comments. If you have nothing nice to say about what happened then fu*k off I'm done seeing these rude comments. Think about if this was your brother and you had people being rude. Get a brain guys. Be respectful.

Butters was a friend. thou his family doesnt know me We spent a short amount of time together playing bridge a game he always beat me at. He had his struggles in life like most of us do at that age. there was no need to use lethal force on Butters. Cops killed your brother because of ignorance to mental health issues and drug addiction. If they were properly trained in these matters before given a gun your son would be alive today. I prey for justice for your son brother, and my friend, in this life or the next. We have waited long enough for answers.

This is horrible, but unfortunately becoming more common. 10 police-involved deaths in BC in 2015 alone. We need a united movement against police brutality and their use of lethal force with impunity. On July 18th Surrey RCMP killed 20 year old Hudson Brooks. His mother Jennifer and his family are organizing a Justice for Hudson march on Sept 26th in South Surrey. James saved my life he was an awesome man and one i could call my best friend. Theres know wat he deserved this at all. Get james justice!

There is a problem when the Police are so fearful of our youth they decide to murder them. 2 adult men, two batons, 2 tasers, 2 bulletproof vests and probably 4 guns in total on them....and yet they feared for their lives from a young man with nothing more then a steak knife? Yeah folks.....we have a serious problem. Police that are cowards and have no non violent conflict resolution skills should not be in the force. I have taken knives out of 2 different people's hands in my life....it didn't require a gun, just quick thinking and a stick. Both people were mentally distraught and neither deserved to be hurt....they needed help. i can't understAnd how the moral compass of a whole organization of people has seriously gone into the toilet. People are more at risk now of being hurt by police then a terrorist attack. How does that make sense....

There are better ways to deal with this. James did not have to be shot so many times and killed. So sad.

One suspect, two police officers, four to seven shots fired......... If in fact he did commit stabbings in the past, then that should have been dealt with at that time. Unfortunately our Justice System sucks big time and Justice in most cases is not served. If he does indeed have mental health issues, then this also needs to be dealt with. But what has happened in the past is not what is at issue here. What is at issue is police officers indiscriminately shooting and killing human beings. I can only explain that as a great lack of training of officers. Why is it that when there is a confrontation, and the suspect is non compliant he ends up dead? Getting hit with a few sandbags or rubber bullets fired at him would bring him down. Absolutely no need for the use of lethal force, there are too many other options available. In other words the police need to be held accountable. If they are not, the amount of killings by police will only escalate.

Irritated yes, by posts being deleted on here that show that there was a different side of him. Petitions are a great tool, but not when it is hiding facts and people are being censored. If you scroll down there is a post by a father of victim of James where he stated that he stabbed his son. Other posts from people mentioning that are now gone.

Can you link the video that you saw where the cops got out of the car and said drop knife. I can only find video footage after it happened.

All i see are these people who weren't in port hardy at the time of what happened to James making up their own stories of what happened . Really people , we all don't have the time to listening to your bullshit lies and excuses. I see all these assholes trying to protect these police officers who don't have any idea how to do their jobs.
