With the UK's Polar research ship being named after David Attenborough, we feel he should change his name to the winner of the competition, Boaty McBoatface, the competition brought huge public interest and this is the only fitting way to celebrate what should have been.

We all need this, because it will restore our sense of national pride in having a say in how our country is run, reducing the belief that politicians are self-centered and filled with hatred for anyone who is of a lower than highest class.

Our licence fees have been paying to send this guy on one exotic holiday after another for decades. I agree that it's about time he gave something back!
