We believe that accreditation of curricula will have a negative impact on geoscience education and departments. We urge the coalition of professional societies charged with developing a geoscience accreditation system to solicit a larger faculty response before moving forward.
I really thought this might just be me shouting into a void but looking at the momentum now is honestly dizzying. It is clear that faculty everywhere are worried about the future of our departments and how these changes might actually stifle the teaching we care about so much.

Keep accreditation out of our departments. We dont need another layer of bureaucracy making things harder for faculty and students.
