Georgetown Admin: Create more Space-Related Programming

Space is one of the most promising and exciting fields of study today. From law to physics to biology and politics, the opening up of the final frontier has profound implications for nearly every subject. Unfortunately, Georgetown’s academic programming has not kept pace with the rate of change and is lagging behind its peers in this critical area. We, students of Georgetown, request that the administration look into the offering of more space-related classes and seminars across a wide range of academic disciplines, both for those who are tangentially interested and for those who wish to pursue the field in a more intensive manner. We believe that, given its unique situation and resources, Georgetown has the potential to lead this field and to prepare its students for one of the most anticipated opportunities of our century--and we urge the administration to take steps to do so.
