Gateway Academy lunch and toilet breaks.

My child was bullied in the toilets in her school because they would smoke there I perfer this school as it means my child is safe as the bullys cant get her. I would perfer my child safe in school. If your child has issues would the dr not give a note

This should happen we need more time because after getting food after a long queue we don't have time to go to the bathroom as lunch or break would have ended

Please change the lunch times back so not all eating at once as they don’t have enough time to eat and go to the loo. So many times girls have come home not eaten due to not having the time to do both and long ques !

How disgusting making kids wait to go toilet how about the kids lock the staff toilets nasty people

I THIBK THAT WE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO GO TO THE TOILET IN LESSON AND KEEP THE TOILETS UNLOCKED

Ridiculous how they can lock the toilets and they have to ask to go toilet like there in prison that’s neglect int the eyes of the law really

I am a former student of the gateway academy. I have a bowel condition known as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). When I was at the gateway I had to wait an hour and half just to be collected by the teachers! I ended up phoning my mum because I was in so much pain with my stomach because I needed the toilet, I ended up having the rest of the week off due to my bowel problems!

This school has never been any different, pupils end up with water infections because of these reasons , the school says a good breakfast in the morning kick starts their learning skills , do they think a pupil not eating a decent lunch and not being able to use the toilet facilities helps with their learning ? Especially when they are concentrating more on holding their toilet and being hungry when they should be learning ! This school sugar coats many issues and is never willing to accept any blame for anything , but they discipline children when they do something wrong . Also the way the teachers speak to pupils at time is discusting may I add . I no many pupils attending the school and they all say the same regarding the issues there . So question is are all the pupils wrong there ??? It's definitely questionable in my opinion.

A very sad representation of "school life". Perhaps a staggered arrangement for breaks will improve the issues. The catering must have an idea of numbers of pupils per year group that need to be catered for and do so accordingly. That way food will be available all lunchtime and pupils will not have to go without. Breaking the lunchtimes will also mean the queues for the bathrooms will be staggered as well giving the pupils greater opportunity to use them. As a few have already commented I'm sure there would be many families being added to Social services for lack of care if parents failed to feed their children or allow access to toilet facilities. Ok so someone will have to adjust the timetables, but it only needs doing once and you then have a template for future reference.

I have spoken to the school more than once. And have visited multiple times thank you. As have other parents. The school is brilliant in terms of education, clubs, gcse results no one is doubting that. I'm Glad your children are getting on fine with it but it does seem the majority aren't and they're being ignored. No one said they should be allowed to wander during class at all, as you can clearly see. What's ridiculous is that just because your kids are fine you assume everyone else's are or should be. Proof is in the pudding here

That’s only until your child desperately will needs to use a toilet and he will be denied. If it’s came to this point this means that the school does nothing to resolve this issue and I’m sure that the school had plenty of the email from the parents. No one said anything bad about schooling progress ,the school itself is nice and does a lot of clubs , but the problem exists if you read the comment it’s quite obvious that this isn’t made up

The school has always treated the pupils this way and don't think anything is wrong doing so . Pupils should not be made to hold their toilet and risk infection , which ends up the pupil not being able to attend, then the school moans about attendance rates when in theory the school causes the issue in the first place.

My Grandchildren go to this school

Is this the school policy or the goverment policy. The toilet issue if a child has an accident could and probably will lead to bullying. Surely the head teacher has enough savvy to see that both these issues need revisiting.

The children should have an hour lunch break so they have enough time to go to the toilet, queue for food, eat their food in a relaxed manner then have time to rest and see their friends.

I got to gateway academy and I completely agree with this statement
