This petition encourages political action to be taken about Hawaii over reliance on gas. The petition will state that Gas companies should provide LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) in Hawaii- this would not only positively impact the environment, but increase uses of other energy sources other than petroleum- overall leading to more sustainable energy sources in Hawaii. While it is said that Hawaii wants to begin Implementing LNG/ bringing it over to the island - there is no guarantee that suppliers would supply it. With this law in act, suppliers would be required to hold a minimum amount of LNG to consumers in order to continue selling gasoline.
