HAYNESVILLE SHALE LANDOWNERS ASSOCIATION - HSLA
PETITION TO LAW MAKERS REPRESENTING THE ARK-LA-TEX AREA:
WHEREAS, we, the undersigned citizens of the State of Louisiana desire to promote the use of Natural Gas as a Transportation Fuel; and
WHEREAS, Sen. Gautreaux and Rep. Smith have proposed legislation for the 2009 Louisiana Legislative Session to promote conversion of vehicles to use Compressed Natural Gas, purchase of CNG vehicles and construction of fueling stations for Compressed Natural Gas; and
WHEREAS, we desire to show our support for this economic stimulus for a domestic industry and an environmentally friendly fuel; and
WHEREAS, we citizens of Louisiana desire to be progressive and proactive in making this change from imported crude oil as our major transportation fuel to domestic Natural Gas;
NOW, THEREFORE, we commend Sen. Gautreaux and Rep. Smith for their foresight in seeking to sponsor this legislation (Senate Bill 26 and House Bill 110) which will mean a real change to Louisiana, its economy and its health and we strongly urge our other elected representatives to support this legislation and any other efforts to effect this change from imported crude as our primary transportation fuel to Domestic Natural Gas.
