We, the undersigned parents of Northeast School, respectfully submit to the Schools Superintendent and the Board of Education this petition proposing the appointment of Mrs. Donna Gardner for Principal of Northeast School. 

Donna Gardner, the current Assistant Principal of Northeast, is a talented educator who has intervened on behalf of individual students and helped them overcome obstacles to reach their potential.  She has maintained a high level of discipline at the school while sustaining a warm and nurturing environment.  Mrs. Gardner is a strong leader who collaborates well with the teaching and administrative staff; she has often worked with classroom teachers to find creative solutions for discouraged students, and with administrative staff to resolve persistent problems.  Mrs. Gardner is well liked among the parents in the school, who often avail themselves of her Open Door policy to the advantage of the entire community. 

Mrs. Gardner shows strong leadership qualities as she stewards the school through curriculum changes, development of creative afterschool activities, support of PTO efforts, and implementation of Board of Ed policy.  Finally, Mrs. Gardner embodies school community and school spirit, attending every student production, every student art exhibit, every club expo, and actually participating in many.  She is cheerful, upbeat, encouraging, and a driving force in our school community.
