We,the undersigned request the Honourable US Congress to take necessery action in celebrating October 2,2007, as INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE through education and public awareness programs as seminars,exhibitions and commemorative stamps,as advised by the United Nation's 61st General body resolution on June 16th,2007 by 142 countries. Hailed as a modern spiritual leader and one of Time Magazine's people of the century, Mahatma Gandhi has inspired many men and women of action including Dr.Martin Luther King,Jr,. Nelson Mandela,Desmond Tutu,Dalai Lama,Aung San Suu Kyi,and many other leaders.Numerous national and international non violence resistance movements have also been inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.
