On <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />July 27, 1991, 7-year old Melissa Bastarache was murdered by Emmerson Roberts in Moncton, NB. Emmerson Roberts received 25 years with a possibility of parole after 15 years. Emmerson Roberts is eligible to apply for full parole and in the near future he will get his parole hearing. We need all citizens’ help in making sure he never gets paroled. We need to make sure he spendslife in prison. If we can keep him in prison, we will be savin another Childs life. This petition is to present to the parole board in hopes that they will listen to all the concerned citizens and never release him from prison. We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge the parole board never to parole Emmerson Roberts back into society where he will continue kill our children.

The weight of this process settles in a little more each day but the stories I read here keep me going. I am currently preparing the documents for the board to ensure they understand exactly what is at stake for our community. The silence from the authorities is heavy but we are not going anywhere.

Reaching this level of visibility feels heavy given the circumstances of why we are here. I am exhausted by the fight but seeing this momentum gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward despite the obstacles.

This man don't deserve to see the light of day. This is a day I will never forget for the rest of my life. My best friend was swept from under me and I didn't even know it until it was too late. I often think of melissa and her family, its to this day instant sadness.
Melissa and I were friends. Her loss haunts me to this very day. I still see that monster's face when I close my eyes. He could have killed any one of us. I sincerely wish it hadn't chosen her. Please keep him behind bars. He's a sick man and I'm 100% confident he'll hurt someone else.
I lived in Moncton when this happened and it still makes me sick to my stomach. Give him life and leave him there.
Still heartbreaking after all these years. Poor Melissa. Do not let him out!!
Keep this monster locked up forever. He took a little girl away from her family and should never see the sun again.

Keep that psycho in prison. I went to school with Melissa who was the sweetest little girl and did not deserve to die so horribly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. R.I.P Melissa Bastarache
