ActonTV plays a key role in keeping the town informed. The shrinking of the local press has made their existence vital to keeping Acton citizens informed.
The loss of Acton's local access television would be a serious threat to the already precarious goal of open government at the local level. Transparency, engagement and accountability of the Acton Town government and its regional school district (Acton-Boxborough) are all very dependent on the continued and consistent functioning of Acton TV.
Acton TV on-demand allows me to stay current on issues affecting the Town. I can tune into board meetings I’ve missed or would’ve attended but can’t due to work or other conflicts. Losing this important resource would be a huge loss for this community.
The hands on opportunities for youth at Acton TV have been wonderful for our son. He is passionate about this place and what it offers and as a middle school student, already wants to pursue a career in this field.
Please tell Verizon and Comcast that I find that Acton TV enriches community life here in Acton. If they don't continue to support it, I will consider moving my business away from those companies. Thanks for your good work, Marc, Rick, Pat, (George), and all the hardworking board members.

ActonTV has done an excellent job of fulfilling the purposes of local access television. Funding for ActonTV must be maintained. Among other things, ActonTV helps local government be more transparent. They broadcast Acton’s Town Meeting, Select Board’s and Fincom’s meetings among others. They produce and air candidate forums and public service programs for the local unit of the League of Women Voters and many other local organizations. ActonTV runs classes for adults and children on how to operate the production equipment and how to create a television show. ActonTV performs valuable services for Acton that would be sorely missed if they were discontinued. Maintain funding for ActonTV.

The Council on Aging Board considers ActonTV a vital resource for senior citizens in our town. It provides information to people who choose not to drive at night and therefore do not attend town meetings. We enjoy the classes and social activities offered as well. Acton TV plays an essential role in our community and we urge the FCC to continue the current level of funding.
