ActonTV has done an excellent job of fulfilling the purposes of local access television. Funding for ActonTV must be maintained.
Among other things, ActonTV helps local government be more transparent. They broadcast Acton’s Town Meeting, Select Board’s and Fincom’s meetings among others. They produce and air candidate forums and public service programs for the local unit of the League of Women Voters and many other local organizations. ActonTV runs classes for adults and children on how to operate the production equipment and how to create a television show.
ActonTV performs valuable services for Acton that would be sorely missed if they were discontinued. Maintain funding for ActonTV.

I support ActonTV. A few years back, when I was an advocate for a Town Meeting article by citizen's petition, ActonTV provided an opportunity for me and a collaborator to share our ideas with the Acton townspeople. More recently, ActonTV videotaped and broadcast a panel discussion that I co-organized about 1,4-dioxane in Acton's waters. In both cases, information and insight was spread more broadly than otherwise would have been possible.

As a long time local business owner (North American Sealcoat) in the town of Acton, I would like to take this opportunity to support the wonderful people of Acton TV.
As the exclusive videographer for the 1st New England Cannabis Convention in Boston, Acton TV provided vital equipment, training, and expertise that allowed me to document & present tremendous educational content regarding Medical Cannabis, prior to legalization.
We’ve taped in-studio interviews with Nationally Acclaimed medical professionals, cancer patients, disabled Vets, and many others regarding the tremendous benefits of Medicinal Cannabis.
The awesome team of professionals at Acton TV do a fantastic job of sharing their experience & expertise with all those who’ve had the privilege of being involved with them.
In addition to the Convention event, I’ve produced a cooking show, as well as many videos of my travels across America as an RVer, while promoting animal welfare, shelters, rescues, and the many people involved in this compassionate cause.
I could go on for hours about the valued services this group provides to the community as a whole, and can only hope they will be allowed to continue for a long time to come.
Thank you for considering this plea of support for a vital asset that provides many valued services for the local community, and it would be a sad day indeed should anything be allowed to interfere with their continued operation.
Sincerely,
Michael Callahan

The Council on Aging Board considers ActonTV a vital resource for senior citizens in our town. It provides information to people who choose not to drive at night and therefore do not attend town meetings. We enjoy the classes and social activities offered as well. Acton TV plays an essential role in our community and we urge the FCC to continue the current level of funding.

ActonTV is vital to our community, as it provides information to those who can not access it otherwise. It also provided opportunities for my son who is now working for one of the major TV stations in Boston. We are grateful for ActonTV and believe that it should remain an integral part of our towns.

ActonTV is an important community resource for information (I know of elderly neighbors watch Board of Selectmen meetings on ActonTV). What many people may not realize is how ActonTV helps to shape the lives of our young people who are interested in TV and film. ActonTV was a perfect summer camp program for my young daughter and when she was in high school, the station gave her and her friends hands-on production experience and access to equipment. ActonTV fostered hers and her friends' desire to pursue film in college, thereby playing an important role in shaping their futures. At a time when our community needs media to pull us together and combat the divisiveness all around us, ActonTV helps to serve that role. A loss of funding for ActonTV would be a real loss for Acton.
