It is undemocratic and wrong to not ballot the parents on if the school go to an academy or not.

We need democracy in action - a vote by parents like myself should be carried out after the cases for & against are put - online might be good.

I don't want a conversion. We are happy with the school the way it is. There is no reason to change. In any event, a vote would clarify what the parents want. This is the least that Colmore parents deserve.

I am totally against an academy conversion given that there seems to be no clear reason to convert. Parents should be allowed a vote on the matter. That would be democratic and fair. If no vote is allowed, then the leadership are behaving dicatatorially - there is no other word for it.

I am completely opposed to the academisation of Colmore Schools. The way the so-called consultation has been handled is disgraceful. By not responding to ACP's reasonable questions they think we will go away, but far from it. And to refrain from correcting misinformation put out by the Governing Body is extremely disappointing to say the least.

Because the Academies Act 2010 demands that consultation must take place. There is no choice.

Often managers of companies do not consult their work force on any changes so why should head and governors?

We need a change in the law to make any proposal for a change in status to be subject to a full consultation including information from both sides, a chance to question those who propose a change, and a secret ballot of staff and parents/carers. This is basic democracy. Pending a change in the law law we must use every means at our disposal to ensure that the petition demands are met.

This is just privatisation. It is just money not childrens education at the forfront of this move. Our children deserve more.

Academies do not improve standards and clearly they are open to financial mismanagement as has been proved recently.

I remember the joy when my daughter, son-in-law and grandson heard the news that he had been accepted into Colmore because of the school's reputation. Surely they deserve to be given as much information as possible regarding such a momentous change so that they may be able to make an informed judgement.
