Office Rod Respectful and Fair
My hope was to step on to the Island and enjoy the feeling of going back in time.
Now wondering if I will get stopped and harassed by an inexperienced officer (thought we endured this in past years)

We are behind Chief Rod all the way. Frye Island won't find a better Chief than he has been. I hope we'll be able to get our FIPD back.

Providing housing for employees? Pure insanity. We all were under the impression that the police force would remain as it is. While I appreciate everything the board does, this is one issue I do not agree with~ Lot 895

What happened to "Frye Island a community run by it's citizens"? Since when do our politicians get to turn over a town vote?

Simple, I voted to keep the police dept as it was and the voters in this town should be heard.

The democratic ideal of “elected officials” representing the the best interest of the Town rather than personal agenda seems to have disappeared from Frye Island. If the annual meeting votes to keep the FIPD, why isn’t that vote respected?
Has anyone in the administration or on the boards been on Island long enough to remember the days before Rod?

Can we go back 2 or 3 years so we can have the TOWN we allwanted, it seams the new gang has no idea what this town could be if we could get rid of them and us old timers can get together so we will be like we want it to be. These new people have gone too far, they have to go.

Thank you John N. for ur insight. It confirmed my suspicions and concerns. I also want to thank Rod for going "above and beyond" by checking on each and every property and protecting our assets during the winter months. As an example,, a previous concerned islander once found our double doors blown open during the winter months, thus avoiding a possible disaster. One can never be thankful enough for persons such as this. I only have one question--will this type of care and concern be guaranteed under the future plans for the island--I think not!!

If we the people of Frye Island voted to keep our current Police Department, ( I voted then, to back-up our Chief and our police at that meeting.). Then why would it not be upheld? I sign this petition, until other wise informed? Does the BOS know something we don't know? or is it time to drain the swamp?

It's very apparent that what the Residents of The Town Frye Island vote for is not what the Town's Board Members ,Select people along with the Town Manger listen to or act on in a positive way. They seem to be running the Town as they seem fit and are paying very little attention to what the residents opinions may be.

The registered voters of Frye Island have voted overwhelmingly to retain and expand the Police Department. It has provided outstanding services to the town. This has been a vendetta by the current Town Manager and abetted by the current BOS and EXCOM, I suspect to retaliate against the Police Chief's wife for her attempt to fire the Town Manager for cause in 2015. The BOS has done this in direct violation of Maine's Town Rule laws and should be impeached at a Special Town meeting as soon as legally possible.
