The Frontier Nursing Service was Founded in Leslie County, therefore any Legacies, Heritage, Landmarks, etc. should remain in Leslie County,
Signed Born at the old Mary Breckinridge Hospital by the Frontier Nursing Service and raised to respect Leslie County and its heritage.

I was named for Mary Breckinridge and grew up underneath her feet. She made Wendover her home, her choice and it needs to be left where she wanted it.

These are more than buildings they are apart of everyone living in this community my entire generation was born in the MB hospital. And furthermore Mary Breckenridge chose to serve the folks in this area she set up her home here she loved this community and as you can see the community loves and remembers her.

This is where Mary Brekinridge was the pioneer of frontier nursing. Along with many classmates I studied her work in nursing school in AL & I was so proud to talk about these buildings in my hometown. Leave the buildings where they belong

The big house at wendover is where my parents were married in 1955. Mary Breckinridge hosted their wedding. The big house has great memories for my whole family.
