I equate the removal of Mary Breckinridge’s legacy to desecrating her body. She would be the last person to agree to removing these structures.

This place is historic. One of my nursing managers come to Hyden and was so excited to see Mary Breckinridge in person because she learned it’s heritage in nursing school. Keep this monumental place. It has awesome nursing history.

Please leave our mountain heritage alone. Mary came here for us. Not the people on the board of directors. She loved the mountain people and built the chapel and the buildings on Wendover to serve the couriers and the community.
We maybe out of the way and off the beaten path. I think that’s one reason Mary picked us. She put in all that effort for the people here and now it will have been for nothing. No FNS, no midwives, no anything.
I wonder what Ms Mary would think about that??

Even though I haven’t lived in Leslie County since 99, it will always be my hometown. This historic place and stained glass window should not be moved.

You can take FNU as a campus in Versailles is already in the works and near completion, but leave the chapel, the window, and the Big House. These are historic places that belong where they were always intended to be. They're too important to Leslie Countians to watch you cart all or parts of them away without a fight.
