Friends of Frank's Field - Opposing housing development behind Middle Road

A shame to lose anoth small area of wildlife green space.

I feel that loosing another area such as this to houses would be a tragedy for local people and their families in the future. We have already lost land to squirrel drive ,Bracklesham close, and to flats that no 166 on the south east rd side.This spot has always been a stopping point for people especially with young children and i beleive it to be benificial in them getting to know about natue. Apart from the importance of the site as far as the wildlife there is also the issue of traffic and parking . Many vehisles park in southeast road including school buses , they cant come onto middle rd at school time until ready to collect because it is too conjested, this may come more difficult as the pavements are due to be altered

Please don't let another green space, essential for wildlife be built on.

The greenway including orchard is a very important local biodiversity resource for Southampton.

Please keep the green belts and don't build more houses in wet areas!

It;s green, keep it green

While I do not live next to this piece of land I have friends who do and I have often thought how wonderful it is for both the local wildlife and people who live nearby. This type of land can never be replaced and should be protected.

This is a small patch of green in an urban environment, once it's gone, it's gone forever. I think it should be protected.

These important islands of green are under threat everywhere. As Sholing boy I am more than happy to protect one of Sholing's few remaining green islands.

Thank you for all of your comments, which we have taken a note of to oppose any future planning application on the site. As far as we know this is still a real possiblity so please continue asking your friends and neighbours to sign.

It destroy such a wildlife corridor would prove a disastrous for not only the wildlife themselves but for the community as a whole. Such green land such as this in a major city should be left for everyone to enjoy.

We have already opposed building on this green corrider behind properties 146-150 Middle Road and our opposition has been upheld by the D.O.E. Inspector. Our objections to this development remain the same.

This green site must be left for wildlife. There is no suitable access and traffic conjestion would increase unacceptably.

Very important to protect the inner city 'green belt, although you do have to balance it against the need for housing. I support the petition as stated and wish you well with your petition

Focus should be on developing brown field sites and not encroaching on the precious greenbelt.

We need to stop any buildings of any houses or flats we have a family of deer that come right up to our back doors in our garden also so many bird life to sit and watch if this goes ahead all we will see is a block of flats we had family round last week and they could not believe what they saw when deer were sitting in our garden WE WOULD LOSE ALL OF THAT plus the parking is bad now when this goes ahead it will get worse

The surrounding schools are already full to the brim. There is no need to build houses or flats upon the very little green areas left of this city. The wildlife greatly depend on it for shelter and food. The roads are busy enough, especially with the school traffic and children about. If you built houses here there would be even more collisions between cars and people.

This green space is of huge importance to us residents, and the wildlife that inhabit this corridor. The land is on a water course and not suitable for homes. As a parent of a child walking to the local school each day, the traffic and road safety is of major concern, together with the affect on our property value.
