There are plenty of empty buildings and sites in the town which can be turned into homes without destroying our urban areas.

this is the second atempt to build house on this stretch of green land the first was rejected on appeal due the increase in traffic and also the fact that some of the bird life using the area are protected this another atempt to get round the ogrinal decision and shoud be rejected by the council

Building on this land will not only have an effect on wildlife that uses it for traveling between green spaces but will have an impact on local traffic ( Less space to park, more traffic on local roads ), noise pollution, reduce light for houses that are backing on to the land. Not only is it on a water course which will effect further down stream but also cause flood risk up stream and the surrounding area.

Why does every oasis of green in urban areas have to be bulldozed? Come on Southampton Council: show you care about your city!

This is a daft idea building on a flood area. A previous proposal was rejected by the suthorities for this and must be rejected again because of the harm it will cause.

I fully support this ipetition, the land in question is home to much wildlife including a family of deer that can often be seen passing through in the early morning. Also the level of traffic on South East Rd during the school run/rush hour is already unacceptable without the added complication of a new development.

I totally support this petition. Building on this land and other properties in other roads adjacent would have a huge impact on not only the immediate area but surrounding roads, more traffic, more school places required where the schools do not have the capacity, wildlife - loss of habitats , pollution to the water course to name just a few. A previous proposal was rejected for several reasons so why would a new proposal be any different?

Well looking at the comments so far I agree with them all! But going back to the traffic congestion i need to remind all that are local that we received a letter from the Highways Agency at the end of last year and they will be widening the pavements outside the Schools in Middle Rd. Well we know how bad it is at the moment to pass on that road in rush hour, it’s going to be complete gridlock in all directions. The junction of Middle Rd and South East Rd is an accident black spot already so more traffic would result in school children at more risk of accidents.
