Cane Patch campground area has been one of the best places to visit and camp at. It needs to be kept up. people come from all around to camp here which helps support our community. Bee Bottom also closed down and it should have been kept open. When you live here and visit these places the memories made and have yet to be made here stick with you your whole life. So much fun growing up in Cane Patch and love seeing all the campers in it during the open season. Please keep this open for us in the Pound area and for our visitors during the summer. Last year a lot of tourists turned around and went somewhere else to camp. You all need to fix the boat dock and get the picnic area fixed. My family got moved from the north fork area because of the dam and this would be a dis-service to my ancestors to not keep these area's open for locals and others.

I have been a resident of Pound Virginia for 24 years I love “The Pound” and believe this area deserves to be maintained, preserved, and enjoyed by future generations!! I purchased my camper the year of the flood with intentions of spending many summers at Cane Patch. Unfortunately, with the flood and the closing of the campground I’ve never been able to take my camper or my grandchild to this wonderful campground. I volunteer to work alongside others who have signed this petition to reopen Cane Patch.

Cane Patch is an amazing campground with so much potential. If the US Forest Service would put some money into the place and bring it back to a useable condition, more people would utilize it. Please restore this once vibrant recreational facility, along with Bee Bottom and Phillips Creek.
