We love this area and has camped at cane patch, have swam and kayaked at Philips creek and kayaked from the boat ramp. Please keep this areas open. Allow the community to help I think you would be pleasantly surprised.

I grew up on the North Fork and it
is sad to see what has happened to
this beautiful area! You (Forest Service)
wanted this area, taking it from my
parents and our friends and neighbors,
now take care of it!

Recreational opportunities involving North Fork Dam are crucial in keeping the town of Pound and surrounding areas afloat in today's inflationary economy. We need repairs done ASAP to our tourism draws.

USFS has a responsibility to the public to maintain its recreational spaces. It’s especially important to do so now, at the moment that SWVA is starting to attract more cultural and rec tourism. Clean up Cane Patch!

I walked around for awhile in Cane Patch Campground this past Sunday, could have cried! I thought back to what it had been several years ago, and what is still needed so badly. With all the folks coming to this area for its natural beauty, and to enjoy being in the natural world, it just makes no sense that it is being "let go". The people in this area need it, and especially the folks of Pound, that could benefit businesswise from folks traveling to the area, instead of leaving to go elsewhere with camping hiking, and fishing facilities. It once was a treasure!
