Restore the cottage in the spirit of conservation. Reduce waste by reusing what you have.

The cottage is an important piece of infrastructure in retaining the bushland, it deserves to be supported for the ongoing benefit of the community

Preservation of historical buildings such as the Allen park cottage must not be overlooked. This building not only serves to remind passers by of the era and style of cottage as reflected by its architecture, but the modern history this building quietly holds from the dedication and tireless efforts of the men and women that have worked so hard to preserve the bush land at Allen Park. Replacement of this cottage with a shed only serves to insult the history of Mellon hill, Allen Park and the friends of Allen Park Bushland Group.

It would be a shame to see this cottage go. The friends of Allan park do such a wonderful job helping to restore and maintain the local Bushland and it’s an important part of our local community.

The ‘Friends’ do incredibly valuable work to rehabilitate and maintain the flora and fauna in the bushland which all the community can enjoy and the cottage at Allen Park should be preserved for their use as well as a place to share with other interested groups.

The Friends do a great job, you see them out there almost every weekend planting and weeding. It's worth "cultivating" their friendship.

Development must go hand in hand with respect for not only our heritage and local history but the work of volunteers on this project over a very extended period. The world is in turmoil. Rewarding the efforts of groups to keep tradition and love for the natural environment alive must go hand in hand with stockpiling to avert the coronavirus. Both must be undertaken with a sense of purpose and commitment.

Our family supports the restoration and preservation of this building. Destroying it is such a waste of resources.

I walk in this area so much and it is nostalgic and takes you way out of the city and into a country region. Very special feel for someone living close to the coast.

The Friends have had a major impact on the restoration of the Allen Park area over many years and deserve to retain this wonderful heritage cottage which is also in keeping with the ethos of the entire heritage precinct. Please recognise the work of the Friends and support this petition.

I support the FAWWA's two cottages as well. Pleasant Valley Cottage needs to be preserved also. Otherwise this area isn't a Heritage Precinct. It can allow more groups to operate and provide an oasis in the sea of suburbia and a glimpse of a bygone era.

I think it’s imperative that we keep and restore as much of our suburban heritage as possible.

The incredible bushland in Swanbourne has been lovingly cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers for many years. It would not be here for the wildlife and for us to enjoy if not for their efforts. The cottage is an integral part of their activities, providing a meeting place, work and storage space. Please retain and maintain this important building.

I support the refurbishment of the cottage for the use of the Friends of Alan Park. Like hundreds - perhaps thousands of other people in Perth, my wife and I greatly value the park for its quiet beauty, bushland and recreational facilities. We see it every day, and use it often. The Friends contribute significantly to its development and maintenance. The cottage suits the area and should be retained for the Friends and other community groups to use.
