One of the few remaining characterful cottages in Swanbourne. Should be kept and continue to be used appropriately as support for our volunteers.

I fully support the restoration of this wonderful heritage cottage. It would be negligent in the extreme to destroy it, which would deprive the residents of continuing use of a cottage which serves many a purpose.

Of course, this heritage cottage in Allen Park should be refurbished - after all the hard work the volunteers do for the bushland it is the least you can do for them and other volunteer groups to use.

Thus is a valuable heritage building..more effort should go to increasing usage and maintenance. Friends of allen park provide useful service.

Community is so important to residents that need support and contact with the community. Please consider the mental health of these people and their passion to the environment

The Friends of Allen Park make a significant contribution to the community in helping to preserve this precious pocket of the natural environment in our suburb. I support the restoration of the cottage to maintain their meeting place and retain the ambience of the small group of historical buildings at the entry to the site.

The friends of Allen Pk do am amazing job in repairing and looking after our extremely important Tennent bushland and need all the support they can get. Please refurbish the only original remaining property on site . Our heritage is very important to us and all who will follow. Thankyou

The “friends” have provided a public service to caring for bushland surrounding Allen Park for many years. Their work has been voluntary and has preserved an area of bushland, most of which has disappeared due to urbanisation.

Community working together to save the environment for all including the native species that live there is more important than ever. It’s essentially a free service the City benefits from which saves hundreds of thousands of dollars over time, prevents criminals from staying in the area because there’s too many eyes to see them. And it gives important information to the area and a service and purpose for the volunteers - keeping them mentally and physically active. Very important for many people and the community as a whole, not to mention future generations that can only benefit if the work is done now.

Great for the volunteers to have a space to operate from and also an important historical connection that should be retained

Without this wonderful group we would not have the wonderful space in which we live. Leave it alone we moved here due to the unique location. These volunteers should retain there space.

The Friends of Allen Park do a wonderful job and have done for many many years. They deserve community support in the form of, at least, a suitable meeting place.

Thousands of volunteering hours by the FOAPBG deserve a base to meet and store their tools and this historic cottage should be preserved.

I support whatever is necessary to keep Allen Park (and it’s original cottage) in its current natural state.

This cottage is part of the history of Swanbourne and should be preserved. The Council needs to acknowledge the excellent work done by the volunteers by refurbishing their base. If they can do it for the cricket club on Allen Park they can also do it for those who support the Bushland.

Great to have a community it’s resource like this. The Allen Park Bushland is a treasure , a pocket of beauty in a degrading landscape. The volunteers need a good space in the heart of this oasis for their organisation and it is a great spot for others to use. Please allocate the funds to restore and renew rather than demolish. Heritage buildings need to be retained for their natural beauty and historical value. Once gone, this is lost forever.
