we won and the tribunal decision has been overturned. im honestly blown away that we actually pulled this off and stuck up for the right to speak freely. keep an eye on things because we cant let this happen again.

The BC Human Rights Tribunal has ordered a Comedian to pay a Heckler $15,000 in damages for emotional suffering caused by what the Comedian said to the Heckler. The Heckler, who insulted and threw 2 glasses of water in the Comedian's face, said that the insults from the Comedian left her with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder! Really?
The BC Human Rights absurdly agreed and ordered the Comedian to pay the Heckler $15,000 and also fined the bar where the Comedy Show was taking place $7,500
This ruling is in direct violation of our rights as Canadians and Perfomers under the Canada Charter and is being challenged in the Supreme Court of Canada. Let's send a clear message that we as Canadians, even if we don't agree with what you are saying, agree with your right to say it.
This decision sets a very dangerous precident for all Canadians and especially our men and women in the Comedy Profession.

Totally absurd. Comedians are supposed to push boundaries. If you cant handle it stay home and watch cartoons.
This whole country is going downhill fast. Embarrassing.
Freedom of speech is dying. 15k for words?? Unbelievable.
Are you kidding me?? A comedian cant tell jokes now? This is Canada not a daycare. What a complete joke.
Sticks and stones. People are way too sensitive these days. Keep your hands off the stage if you dont like what you hear!

If you throw drinks at a performer you deserve exactly what you get. The tribunal has no business here.
