I was recently given a ticket for harrassment for waving at a person with one finger. This will send me to jail for 180 DAYS if something can't be done and soon! This act is covered under the 1'st ammendment and I have proof. An article published 5/27/11 in the Denver Post shows this. "Case dropped against driver who flipped off trooper" Quoting from this article, "After reviewing the facts of the case, this incident does not support probable cause to sustain the charge of harrassment as such actions under these circumstances are protected free speech," a State Patrol statement said. This man's attorney, Dan Recht said his clients actions were a clear case of free speech protected by the First Ammendment of the U.S Constitution. He also stated that Law inforcement officers need to be better trained to recognize situations where an individuals speech is protected.
