It's time to set him free. Put hard core prisoners in his place. He's served enough time.

Kerry Myers is my uncle. As an attorney who has practiced almost solely in government, I have committed my career to seeking justice and change for those causes in which I believe. In fact, my current job sometimes involves taking of property and even freedom in pursuit of this justice for others. I take this burden very seriously. I have come to learn that seeking justice often involves fighting to return property or freedom to someone, and often it is difficult to complete the appropriate remedies in place. Yet as an attorney in government, the signatures we have carry power. We cannot forget our legal, civic and moral duty to ensure no one gets lost in the system. Every day that I enter my signature at work, (and yes that happens so often it risks becoming rote) I for just one moment try to remember that someone's family is being affected just as mine has. It makes me take just a bit more time, or look once more at a document, or make a phone call just to check that something has moved forward like that person was told. I urge the Governor to remember, for just one moment, how to really feel the power of his signature to heal.

I am Kerry's father. I have cancer of the lungs and don't know much time I have. I would love to see Kerry come home before the lord takes me. Gov. Jindal please conceder signing this pardon as soon as possible. Thank You

My wife and I have known Kerry Myers for over twenty-five years. He and I worked together as members of various prison organizations seeking parole eligilbilty for lifers. I also worked with him as a staff writer (legal spectrum) on the Angolite. True friends are hard to find out here in the free world (I've been out eleven years)and to find one in prison is even harder. Kerry is not only my friend but he's like a brother to me. He was always there when myself or anyone else needed a friend to talk to. He is a kind and compassionate person who has made the best out of a bad situation and even though I believe he is innocent deserves a second chance. As can be seen from a review of his prison records Kerry is a low risk prisoner whom Governor Jindal should give the utmost consideration to. I like many others pray Governor Jindal will sign the recommendation (of his hand picked board of pardons) of commutation for Kerry Myers.

Guilty or Not Guilty ? At this point, does it really make a difference? He has done enough time and with a perfect conduct record. He has more than proven he is ready for re-entry and can lead a productive successful life.
