Kerry Myers, National Award-winning prison journalist and editor of the Angolite prison news magazine received a unanimous commutation recommendation
from the Louisiana Board of Pardons on September 10th, 2013. A deputy warden attending the hearing stated that Myers had the lowest risk assessment score for re-entry he had ever seen.
Please join his broad base of support including journalists, criminal justice experts,
university department chairs, clergy, friends and family in encouraging Governor Jindal of Louisiana to sign the recommendation of commutation for Kerry Myers.
I spent a week in the penitentiary studying and discussing with a small group gathered by a chaplain that included Kerry Myers. I was deeply impressed by Kerry as a person and as a contributor to the group and wholeheartedly support his commutation.
