The Egyptian people have been oppressed for 30 years under the Mubarak dictatorship. The people are now out on the streets asking for their basic rights to peacefully assemble and demand a truly democratic system.

The dictatorship has responded with cruelty and increased oppression. So far, more than a hundred are dead and thousands are injured. The two powers blocking the people from reaching their dream and ending the dictatorship is the Egyptian army and the US president.

As people who stand up for their values, and specifically as Americans, we need to pressure President Obama to put an end to the bloodshed and ask President Mubarak to step down and allow a unity government to take over. The US provides more than $1 billion in aid to the Egyptian government and army, and has a lot of leverage over both.
