Today, February 10th 2017 my high school presented a video on the attire requirements for the upcoming prom. However, this video only presented rules for the female students. Among these were no back, no slit above the finger tips, no midriff, and no cleavage. Considering there have been no limits on the last few proms, student have found this very upsetting. It is well known that the two-piece prom dress is very popular, as well as the low scooped back, and many of my female classmates have already bought dresses following these trends.

Now, it is a fact of life that females have different body structures and shapes, and therefore the same dress can look different on different girls. Are we as a a school, as a society, going to shun and punish a girl for the uncontrollable measurements of her physique?

So instead of being told to dress, I believe that we should teach boys to behave like gentlemen. I believe that we should be judged on our actions and intentions rather the way we dress. And lastly I believe we should be able to make ourselves feel pretty and not not be deemed as provacatve.
