Yes, I am a Defiance County, Ohio resident and I join Free the Chained Dogs of Defiance County, Ohio in letting our lawmakers know that we demand "No Chaining" or "Limited Chaining" laws to protect the dogs in our community. We are a group of animal lovers that believe that dogs have rights, too! They are living beings with emotions and feelings. Dogs can feel happiness and sadness, pleasure and pain, they know when they are wanted and loved. Dogs want to be with us, not isolated on the end of a chain or in a pen their whole lives. Dogs are social animals and want to be with their people. All they want is to love and be loved! They don't want to be outside all alone, living in the same six foot space... eating, sleeping, and defecating all in the same place. Dogs that live this way are more likely to be neglected socially, emotionally, and physically. Just because they have a dog house doesn't mean they don't get cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Dogs die everyday from the elements, die on the end of their chain, all alone. We need to put a stop to all this pain and suffering! We want our community to be a place where all dogs are family members and are treated with love and respect, just like they deserve!
