Dr Tan Cheng Bock Championed for free parking on Sundays and Public Holidays to promote Family unity. Punggol new town is one of the biggest newly developing estates where we see a majority of young families come together. Many couples have now moved out from their parents' home and importantly one they might have spent more than 20 years to a new home of themselves.
Parents and relatives might not see each other as often as before and typically Sundays and Public holidays are the only best days they come together. While encouraging more human interaction (less mobile communication) and for grandchildren meeting their grandparents (not only during wedding, birthday and funeral events), Free Parking on Sundays and Public Holidays is highly encouraged to continue the effort for family unity. The residents of the development gained nothing financially but only a stronger bond when we start a home ourselves.
To the MP of Punggol-Pasir Mr Ng Chee Meng, we write this petition to you in making this possible.
We believe that Mr Koh Poh Koon can do it for his ward, you can too!

The feedback I have received from residents confirms that visiting family members remains a significant priority for those living in our community. I am currently drafting a formal letter to Mr. Ng Chee Meng to articulate how this policy shift would directly strengthen local support networks.

The number of people who have stepped forward to support this request confirms the importance of family time for our neighborhood. This momentum sends a clear message that fostering stronger connections between generations remains a priority for the residents of Punggol.

Hope to get Sunday and public holiday FREE PARKING at punggol. For siblings to drive and visit parents for longer hours.
We should have free parking on Sundays and PHs in Singapore. This will shows that besides focusing in economy, Singapore also values welfare.
I fully support free parking on Sun and PH to build greater family cohesiveness and bonding among multi generation of family members
It will allow my parents to stay at my house longer during weekends. Carpark in residential area should not be profitable. It should also keep in line with national initiatives like spending more time with family.
I wish this will help our close knitted Neighbourhood and with the free parking helps our families drop by often :)

Not only Punggol, but island wide! Don't give some lame reason that we are near stadium or a mosque or temple to not have free parking on Sunday!
